Abbie Cornish Starrer THE GIRL Wraps In the Lone Star State

Axiom Films is thrilled to announce that "The Girl", written and directed by David Riker (writer and director of award-winning "La Ciudad"), starring Abbie Cornish ("Bright Star"," Limitless", "W.E".), Will Patton ("The Mighty Heart", "Armageddon", "Entrapment") and introducing Maritza Santigo Hernandez as Rosa, has wrapped principal photography in Austin, Texas after an eight week shoot which commenced on 9 May. In addition to shooting in Austin, the film was also shot on location in Oaxaca, Mexico.

Australian actress Abbie Cornish will now take the leading role in THE GIRL replacing Emily Blunt, who was originally attached.

Abbie Cornish will play the young, single mother, who is thrown into an unexpected and life-changing journey, when her quick money scheme to smuggle immigrants across the border between Texas and Mexico ends disastrously, leaving her stranded with an eight year old girl from Oaxaca.

Axiom Films is delighted to announce that LEAP YEAR has been nominated for the prestigious Sutherland Award at the 54th BFI London Film Festival.

The Sutherland Award is presented to the most original and imaginative first feature.

The London Film Festival will mark the film's UK premier, before its theatrical release on November 26th.
